Sun-Mar's Home Composter is a self-contained, high temperature, home composting system to compost foot scraps, kind of a green garbage disposal Currently undergoing improvement and re-design, we anticipate production sometime later this year, but there is no ETA at the moment, sorry, and no price has been announced. Fast, odorless, and convenient, with just a few rotations of the large bio-drum (net volume 15.75 gallons) a couple of times a week, the Home Composter transforms messy food scraps into a nutrient-rich, organic peat moss fertilizer and some "compost tea". Designed to fit in a cabinet space the size of a dishwasher, the Home Composter is also good for boats, RV’s, and cabins. It vents much like a conventional clothes dryer through the supplied 3 inch diameter, 106 inch long, corrugated, flexible exhaust hose, assuring quick evaporation with no odor. The Home Composter's 6 watt fan (12 volt AC) operates off a small transformer for inside use, but the unit does not require electricity for outside use, just keep in mind that composting rates slow with colder temperatures and less air movement. Sized for 6 people full time residential use or 20+ in an office lunch room, the Home Composter is composed of recycled, durable plastics and carries a 1 year parts warranty.
